Welcome

Thank you for taking part in this study. You will help us evaluate how well AI patient models can role-play a mental-health client in a therapist-style interview. Here is what to expect:

  1. Share a few details about yourself.
  2. Choose a disorder category and write a short patient profile.
  3. Pick a patient model and conduct a stage-by-stage interview with it.
  4. Rate the model after each stage, then give an overall rating.
  5. Submit, and (optionally) repeat with the other models.

It takes roughly an hour per model, and your participation is voluntary — you can pause and resume at any time.

Your User ID. When you begin, we'll give you a personal User ID (for example p_3f9a2c…). Everything you do is saved against it automatically, so you're very welcome to take breaks and come back whenever suits you — on this device or another. Your browser will remember it here, and it's a good idea to jot it down too, just so it's handy if you'd like to return later. You'll see it again on the next screens and each time you submit.

About you

Thank you for sharing a little about yourself. We ask these questions only to describe our participant group and to analyze the results by background (for example, by level of training).

Your privacy matters to us. Your answers are used only for research, and are always reported together with everyone else's — never on their own. We won't share anything that could identify you, and you're welcome to use a first name or an alias. Your email and phone simply help us stay in touch and let you pick up where you left off; they are kept private and never part of any published results. Everything here is voluntary — the phone field is optional, and you can take a break or stop whenever you like.
Set a password to log in later with your email & password instead of your User ID. Leave blank to use only your User ID.

Choose a disorder category

Select the category your patient profile will focus on. We will show you an example profile (from a real published case) on the next page to guide your own writing.

Which should I choose? If you have relevant clinical experience or knowledge, we especially encourage you to choose PTSD / trauma-related, Suicidality / self-harm, or OCD — these benefit most from expert input. If you are not sure, the first two categories (Anxiety disorders and Depressive disorders) are more common and a good place to start.

After you choose, the matching example profile will load on the next page to guide your writing.

Create a patient profile

This profile is the "character sheet" the AI will use to role-play your patient, so the detail you add here shapes how realistic the conversation feels. Fill in each field using the short guidance shown beneath it — the example above is there to help, not to copy. You're welcome to base the profile on a real patient you've worked with; the more grounded and specific the details, the more realistic the conversation will be.

Only the patient's identity is required — every other field is optional. Two tools can help as you write:

  • ✨ Assist (next to each field) — an AI helper that refines and expands what you've written, or suggests prompts to get you started if the field is empty. It only fills that one field, and you decide whether to keep its wording.
  • Profile review — when you save, we automatically review the whole profile and offer a few optional suggestions to help you enrich it. We encourage you to revise your profile based on the suggestions; you can also continue as-is if you prefer.

Choose a patient model to interview

Please complete the evaluation for all four models using the same patient profile — each one is a separate system, shown here only as Model 1–4. Pick a model to begin; when you finish evaluating it, you will return here to choose the next one. You don't have to do them all in one sitting: your progress is saved automatically, so you can pause after finishing a model and come back to the remaining ones later. To resume, keep your User ID — store it somewhere safe, as you'll need it to pick up where you left off.

We recommend evaluating the models in order — Model 1 first, then Model 2, 3, and 4. This lets us prepare the next model in the background while you work, so each one is ready faster.
